As our eyes locked my heart began beating so loudly it drowned out every possible sound. I was holding God's greatest gift in my arms. From that moment on, I knew I was responsible for documenting her every move. I would be her biggest fan. Time was already proving to slip through my hands. My feet still hadn't hit the ground with my first born....and now a second child. How could I freeze time? The only way I knew how, photographs.

Photography has always been a part of me. My once dream college major had stirred up on the inside of me. It became my only weapon to survive.

As a working momma, I like many, carry a guilt that is unexplainable for missing out on those monumental moments with my babies. I realized I would only have my memories, moments in time, my photographs. The quantity of time with my children was scarce. The quality of time became my focus. I absorb every minute when I am with them. It is in those moments I feel empowered through photography as my voice to shout to the world. I can scream at the tops of my lungs. 'I am a working mom. I LOVE my children. I am PRESENT!!!!!'

My voice to the world collided with the blasting questions that filled my head with self doubt. My insecurities trumped my desire to create. I was my biggest enemy, caught up in all my shortcomings and lack of technical knowledge. However, I never lacked passion. I definitely lacked confidence. I attended Me Ra Koh's workshop last year. I walked away with life long friends, more technical knowledge, but above all the confidence to embrace who I was right where I was on MY journey.

Each one of us is on an individual journey.

I look forward to our journey crossing paths. I hope to ignite a fire, feed your passion, allow you to heal, or cheer you on. Whatever the case may be, I BELIEVE IN YOU--wherever you find yourself on your journey.
